These brass metal scribes were turned on a milling machine, the tools are extremely useful when marking metals and the weight of the scribe gives great control and accuracy when trying to make detailed markings.
I chose brass because it easy to machine and does not corrode or rust.
The ribbed detail is to give more grip when working in a workshop where oil and coolants could make a smooth scribe more difficult to keep a grip of.
Two different designs were made, one has a space where a clip can be attached near the top and the second is shorter to allow it to be stored in a pencil case or similar container.
The scribe tips are made of hardened steel and can be replaced if they become too damaged.
